Giorgio Armani talks about his sexuality and his male partners

Giorgio Armani has spoken out about his sexual experiences with male lovers for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.

The 90-year-old fashion designer, who is believed to be worth over $13 billion (nearly £10 billion), rarely discusses his personal life and has not publicly commented on his sexuality since an interview with Vanity Fair in 2000. “I have had women and sometimes men in my life,” he said at the time.

But now, in a new interview with Corriere della Sera, he has spoken more about these men and detailed how he comes to terms with his sexuality.

Although Armani revealed that he lost his virginity to a girl in school, he went on to say that he had a crush on a man he met at summer camp.

“I never talked about it,” said the former aspiring doctor. “It happened under a shed on the beach in Misano, at five in the afternoon, when all the boys from the summer camp were supposed to have some rest.”

Exactly what happened is unclear, but Armani, who founded his own label in 1975, continued: “I was in a group of boys and there was a boss, a young man, to whom I was immediately attracted.” I understood it Not quite at the time and didn’t pursue it further.
