Greek Flags: “My Mistake”: Woman tears down Greek flags, mistaking them for those of Israel

Recently, a video went viral on TikTok in which a woman was seen tearing things down Greek flags hung in front of a restaurant.
Anti-Israel TikTokker Ambamelia garnered 3.2 million views after she filmed herself tearing down the flags outside Efi Gyro‘s restaurant in MontclairNew Jersey, thought they were Israeli flags, according to the New York Post.
In the viral video titled “The time I mistakenly thought the Greek flag was for Israel and took it down, OMG,” a woman recounted her mistake at Efi’s Gyro in Montclair.

“Look at this!” she exclaimed as she tore down Greek flags. “Free Palestine“Bitch!” she shouted at confused employees, insisting: “There is a genocide taking place!” She declared: “I don’t support it.” Zionism in Montclair!”
Finally, the employees explained that the flags were intended for Greece. She replied, “What? Really? My mistake. Oh, it looked like Israel.”
The restaurant owner confirmed Wednesday that the attack was real, but it happened on March 11. She doesn’t know why the footage has been released now. She reported the incident to the police at the time and said: “The young woman destroyed my property.”
“It wasn’t a skit like some people think,” she told The Post about online speculation that the attack was too stupid to be real.
“This was neither planned nor calculated in any way,” she clarified, saying everyone was “stunned” when it happened.
Commenters mocked the video, with many calling the incident “embarrassing.”
One viewer asked: “Why did you post that?!” while another commented: “Our education system is failing us, I can’t do that.”
This is not the first case of anti-Israel vandalism at a restaurant following the brutal Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
In a similar case in December, a woman threw soup at employees of an Upper East Side kosher restaurant and accused them of being “murderers.”
