Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world after soccer and is becoming increasingly popular in the United States. GOATS, a documentary film production company that produces documentaries on athletes like Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods, has its eye on cricket.

The GOATS announced that their next project, The GOATS of Cricket, a documentary to be released next year, will highlight a dozen of the sport’s greats.

Cricket’s popularity in America was cemented by Team USA’s sixth victory over Pakistan in the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup. Pakistan is one of the most dominant clubs in cricket and USA’s win against Pakistan was an important milestone.

The evolution of US cricket has progressed over the years and the US’s first entry into top-level cricket was the 2004 Champions Trophy. They met the criteria after winning the ICC Six Nations Challenges, which included teams such as Scotland, Namibia , the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and Canada.

Last year, Major League Cricket was launched with MI New York, Mukesh Ambani’s franchise. This year, the USA won a series against a full member country for the first time in the T20 World Cup; They defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in a three-match series in Dallas. In addition to their win, they defeated Canada in the opening match of the T20 World Cup, shocked Pakistan in the Super Over and qualified for the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

The GOATS of Cricket was created by the visionary producers behind the acclaimed documentary series GOATS with photographer Walter Looss, which premiered on ESPN and ABC Networks to remarkable ratings.

Former England cricketer Mark Butcher has been added to the expert panel that will decide the selection criteria for the new series.

“There is no better time for GOATS of Cricket. The sport is changing before our eyes and having played with and against many of yesterday’s greats, such as Gilchrist and Tendulkar, it will be fascinating to compare them with players such as Kohli and Cummins, who are the pioneers of our modern game . Hearing each GOAT’s individual stories and finding out what makes these guys tick will make for some great viewing,” Mark Butcher said in a statement.
