Suspect charged in Woodbridge stabbing

A suspect has been charged in connection with a Sept. 9 knife attack in Woodbridge. The suspect is charged with aggravated assault after a physical altercation with a man.

Serious malicious wounding *ARRESTRATION – On October 15, the suspect was identified as Makahyla Lynn COURAGEwho was wanted in connection with the stabbing that reportedly occurred in the 14500 block of Richmond Hwy. on September 9th at Woodbridge (22191) was arrested.

Serious Malicious Violation *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED [Previously Released] – On Sept. 10, investigators identified the suspect believed to be involved in the stabbing that reportedly occurred in the 14500 block of Richmond Hwy. at Woodbridge (22191) on September 9th. Further investigation revealed that the victim and an acquaintance, identified as the defendant, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when the defendant punched, kicked, and then stabbed the victim before the parties separated. Following the investigation, investigators obtained arrest warrants for the defendant, identified as Makahyla Lynn COURAGE. Attempts to locate the defendant were unsuccessful.

Knife stabbing investigation [Previously Released] – At 5:05 a.m. Sept. 9, officers responded to the 14500 block of Richmond Highway. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 34-year-old man, was involved in an altercation in which he was stabbed and beaten. The victim was located by an employee of a nearby business who contacted police. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspects, who could not be located. No other injuries were reported.
