The Princeton High School Theater Department’s fall production will be “Night of the Living Dead,” featuring new onstage fight choreography and an enclosed set built by theater technology students.

Performances will take place October 24-26 in the PHS Auditorium, with performances on Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. and a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m., followed by an evening show at 6 p.m.

Theater directors debated between “Night of the Living Dead” and “Sleepy Hollow,” and director Alexa Buck said they chose the former because it fits well with Halloween.

“We were hoping this would reduce the fear factor and get people to come visit us,” she said. “It’s also a boy-centric show that we haven’t done in a long time.”

The theater department typically uses the fall semester to attract the attention of students outside of the production class and see if they would like to audition for the play.

“In movies and TV shows, plays are really fun and just show the entertaining aspects,” Buck said. “You don’t see the incredibly hard work and dedication that all of our students, all of our technicians, all of our actors put in every single day after school and on the weekends to try to make it all happen. It gives them a little taste of what it’s like to be in a real program.”
