Starring the brilliant talents of David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin, Ludwig has already captivated audiences and earned the title of ‘the BBC’s best series for years’.

Now viewers are eagerly clamoring for more episodes.

David – known from “Peep Show” – plays socially awkward crossword puzzle inventor John Ludwig Taylor.

Set in Cambridge, John’s reclusive life is turned upside down when his identical twin brother – who happens to be a police officer – disappears without a trace.

So John assumes his sibling’s identity in his desperate attempt to find him.

The season 1 finale left viewers wanting more.

And now they’ve got their wish, as the actor hinted at his return in a recent interview with The Mirror.

David said: “That’s certainly our hope that it continues, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.”

Death in Paradise fans have been following the news closely, and some are happy to see it fill the void for the drama while it takes a short break.

Death in Paradise can look forward to a Christmas special, with Don Gilet taking on the role of DI Mervin Wilson, and a full return to our screens in 2025.

Josephine Jobert plays Florence in the BBC drama Death in Paradise.

As they eagerly await the new season of their beloved series, fans took to a Facebook page hoping to find something that could take their place.

One fan said: “#Ludwig is really #DeathInParadise but in Cambridge. Perfect afternoon television. And I can’t praise Anna Maxwell Martin enough.”

Another fan agreed: “It’s easy to watch Death in Paradise except it’s Cambridge. And if you love Beethoven, it’s interesting to hear the revised music.”

Another added: “I just watched Ludwig on BBC. I think it’s excellent and reminded me a lot of Death in Paradise.” He added that it was “fun, interesting and some really crazy solutions to cases.”
