Liam Payne’s fans are mourning the superstar’s tragic death after he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

According to a police statement, the former One Direction singer’s death was confirmed at the scene. They reported that he fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in the fashionable Palermo district. Doctors also confirmed his death in an official statement.

Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency service, told Argentine television channel Todo Noticias that Payne fell into the hotel’s courtyard. He mentioned that authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death and conducting an autopsy. In a statement, Crescenti said, “At 5:04 p.m., we were alerted through the 911 integrated public safety system to an individual who was in a management courtyard of a South House Hotel.”

He continued: “At 5.11pm the SAME team arrived and confirmed this man’s death. Later we found out that he was a singer in a music group. Unfortunately, as a result of his fall, he suffered injuries that were incompatible with life. So we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation.”

As the tributes began to pour in, many fans reflected on the lyrics to his song “Live Forever” in their heartfelt messages. One fan shared the poignant lyrics on Twitter/X and added: “Rest in Power.”

The lyrics say: “‘I always wanted to live fast, die young, slow down when you come around, yeah, burn bright, burn out, but now you make me live forever’ – Liam Payne, Live Forever.”

During his time in Argentina, Liam was spotted at Niall Horan’s performance. He was seen in the audience singing along with the crowd. Before his trip, he posted on social media: “We’re going to Argentina. Firstly because we have to, and secondly because we want to, and thirdly because Niall Horan is playing down there and I think we could. “Just go over there and say hello.”
