Hickory man charged with probation violation and assault

Juan Dominic Mills, 53, of 17th Street NE in Hickory, was arrested by probation and parole officers on Wednesday (October 16). He is accused of violating probation and assaulting a woman.

Mills is on probation following an April 2024 conviction in Catawba County for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He received a suspended sentence and 24 months probation. Following Wednesday’s arrest, Mills was held at the Catawba County Detention Center on $16,500 bail. An appearance in District Court was scheduled for today (October 17th) and a Supreme Court date is scheduled for December 5th.
