Shootings on I-94 lead to temporary closure of the highway

A shooting on Interstate 94 brought traffic to a standstill for hours on Chicago’s South Side overnight.

According to Illinois State Police, shots were fired at a vehicle in the northbound lane of I-94 near 115th Street around 11:40 p.m.

The target was not injured and reported the shooting to police, who closed the northbound lanes of I-94 between 111th and 130th streets to investigate.

All lanes were reopened around 3:50 a.m

The Illinois State Police are still investigating.
