Teenager arrested on suspicion of “racially or religiously grievous bodily harm”.

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offenses following an incident on Sunday morning.

The boy, a 14-year-old from Lymington, was arrested on suspicion of racially motivated assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Other offenses included racially/religiously motivated harassment for fear of violence and property damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and theft from a vehicle – non-motor vehicle.

Police said the boy was arrested by police on Christchurch Road in Lymington.

The boy has since been released on bail pending further investigations.

A police spokesman said: “We will definitely provide you with further updates on our investigation into these reported incidents, so please stay updated.”
