A social media selfie video shows 31-year-old former One Direction singer Liam Payne in Sarmiento, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. This video, shared on Liam’s verified Snapchat account, is believed to be one of his last. In the video, Liam sits at a dining table and discusses how he and his friends overslept. “Such a beautiful day here in Argentina. This is the breakfast table where I just enjoy coffee and breakfast even though it’s 1 p.m.,” he says. A friend offscreen mentions that they’re sleeping until noon, to which Liam smiles and shakes his head before the video cuts out.

Tragically, Liam Payne died on Wednesday in Buenos Aires at the age of 31. Police were called to a hotel in the Palermo district about an “aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.” The hotel manager reported hearing a loud noise and when officers arrived they found a man had fallen from the balcony of his room. Rescue workers confirmed the British singer’s death and discovered him in the hotel’s courtyard. Audio recordings related to the case show that a hotel employee requested urgent assistance for an intoxicated guest.
