Liam Payne dead: Celebrities pay tribute

Charlie Puth, DJ Zedd, Paris Hilton and Juicy J are among the celebrities paying tribute to Liam Payne, who tragically died on Wednesday at the age of 31.

According to ABC and CNN, the former One Direction member fell from the third-floor balcony of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He is best known for his work in the boy band consisting of Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. After leaving the band in 2016, he launched a fairly successful solo career. Payne’s debut single “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo was released this year. He also collaborated with artists such as DJ Zedd and J Balvin.

“I’m in shock right now,” wrote Charlie Puth on his Instagram story. “Liam was always so nice to me. He was one of the first great artists I had the opportunity to work with. I can’t believe he’s gone.” He shared a video of the two artists when they were young, saying, “I’m so upset right now, may he rest in peace.” I’m so sorry.”

Zedd, who Payne collaborated with on 2017’s “Get Low,” shared his own tribute, writing: “RIP Liam…I can’t believe this is real…absolutely heartbreaking…”

“So disturbing to hear the news of @LiamPayne’s passing,” Paris Hilton tweeted. “I send love and condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP my friend.”

Rapper Ty Dolla Sign wrote on his Instagram Story over a video of Payne: “I just talked to you two days ago my man. I miss you frfr.”

Lou Teasdale, One Direction’s former hairdresser, wrote on Twitter: “Sending you all so much love.”

“This all feels so surreal,” One Direction guitarist Dan Richards wrote on social media. “Thank you to everyone who got in touch. I’m still trying to understand it all. My thoughts are with Liam’s family at this moment.”

Oasis member Liam Gallagher wrote to his followers: “Life is precious kids and you can only do it ONCE, plain and simple.”
