Man arrested for aggravated assault on Townsend Street

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being seriously attacked in Belfast.

It happened on Townsend Street at around 7pm BST on Wednesday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested following the incident.

Police and emergency services attended the scene and took a man to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

The arrested man remains in police custody.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the attack, or anyone who may have CCTV or other footage, to come forward.
