North Attleboro police are mourning the loss of a retired officer who was struck by a car

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) – The North Attleboro Police Department is mourning the loss of Richard Rogers, a retired police officer who died after being struck by a vehicle.

According to North Attleboro police, police said Rogers was riding his bicycle on South Washington Street on Oct. 11 when a car hit him.

Police said Rogers recently retired as a special constable and would take jobs during his time as a police officer that no one else would.

North Attleboro police posted on Facebook that Officer Rogers “was an all-around great guy, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
