Nam Yoon Su opens up about his decision to star in “Love In The Big City” and has different reactions to the drama

Nam Yoon Su shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Love in the Big City”!

Based on the best-selling novel by Park Sang Young, “Love in the Big City” is a carefully crafted drama that combines comedy, classic love story and romantic comedy. The series follows young writer Go Young (Nam Yoon Su) as he navigates the ups and downs of life and love, with Park Sang Young himself adapting the script to capture the charm of the original.

On October 16, the cast and crew of the drama gathered for a press conference. Participants included writer Park Sang Young, directors Son Tae Gyum, Hur Jin Ho, Hong Ji Young and Kim Se In, and actors Nam Yoon Su, Kwon Hyuk, Oh Hyun Kyung, Na Hyun Woo, Jin Ho Eun and Kim Won Joong.

Nam Yoon Su, who plays Go Young, a gay character, shared his thoughts on the role and said, “I didn’t feel any pressure or doubt to take on this role. The original work had high artistic value, so I wasn’t worried.”

He added: “During my meetings with the directors, I noticed their unique style and elegance, which gave me confidence. I trusted that and immersed myself in the role. I wanted to showcase the kind of acting that I am good at, that’s why I chose this project.”

About working with four different directors, Nam Yoon Su explained: “Each director had their own feedback style, filming techniques, sound and lighting. Their individual charms will be reflected in each episode and my character will feel different in each episode.”

He continued, “The directors made the filming environment comfortable, like working with friends or colleagues.” As they led with strong leadership, I felt like I was being swept along by the current, like I was floating with the tide. “

Reflecting on the series’ different tone, Nam Yoon Su said, “The first two stories are fun, while the third and fourth stories are more serious and intense.” As we filmed, my confidence in the project grew.”

Regarding the negative reactions to the drama, Nam Yoon Su said, “I didn’t pay much attention to them. Every time I woke up I found over 100 encouraging messages. I feel like people’s perspectives are constantly changing.”

Love in the Big City premieres October 21st and will be available on Viki!
