Employee fired for abusing meal allowances

Silicon Valley-based Meta, formerly known as “Facebook,” has reportedly fired over two dozen employees in Los Angeles who were accused of misusing $25 in meal credits. The news leaked just as the parent company announced that it would be reorganizing an entire leadership layer within the WhatsApp, Instagram and Reality Labs units.

The fired employees reportedly spent their lunch credits on wine glasses, cleaning products and even acne pads. This move violates the company’s policy, which had strictly limited the use of meal credits to food and beverage use only.
