Liam Payne dead: One Direction star falls to his death from hotel balcony in Buenos Aires

One Direction star Liam Payne died after falling from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Police say they were called to the hotel after reports of an “aggressive male who was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Payne fell from the balcony after officers arrived, the statement said.

Fans line up outside the hotel – Casa Sur Hotel Palermo – to mourn the 31-year-old’s death – lighting candles, singing One Direction songs and holding moments of silence.

Payne, from Wolverhampton, UK, rose to global fame when One Direction entered the 2010 X Factor show.

They become the biggest boy band in the world before going on hiatus in 2016. Payne releases her only solo album of 2019.
