One was killed in an accident in Fresno

A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle at Olive and Villa avenues in Fresno, Fresno police said.

FPD said it received multiple calls about a vehicle-pedestrian collision just after 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers provided first aid.

When an ambulance arrived, they provided additional assistance and the man was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

FPD determined through an investigation that a vehicle was traveling westbound on Olive in Villa when it struck the man.

The man was lying on the road.

The man may have been homeless.

The man was carrying various items with him.

Police said the first driver stopped and was cooperating with traffic officers.

Officers are currently investigating whether drugs or alcohol are involved.

The FPD has reports that a second vehicle struck the man and left the scene.

Police believe the driver who drove away could face criminal charges.

The road is expected to be closed for a few hours.
