Police are searching for a teenage suspect in a violent knife attack in Orange County

Police are searching for a teenage suspect accused of stabbing a man to death in a violent group attack in Santa Ana.

In August, 18-year-old Eyving Vasquez and two other suspects were seen surrounding a male victim near Diamond and Fairview streets around noon.

The video of the confrontation, which went viral on social media, was recorded by a bystander. While the victim struggled with the trio, the three suspects, all armed with knives, stabbed him several times in the upper body.

The victim was able to flee the area to safety while the three suspects calmly walked away.

The victim was later found lying on the sidewalk near McFadden Avenue and Sullivan Street with multiple stab wounds to his stomach. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he survived the attack.

Investigators learned that an argument occurred between the suspects and the victim in a public park.

One of the suspects, Vasquez, remains at large. Police said he was a “documented gang member with a history of criminal activity.”

Investigators say he is known to frequent the area of ​​800 S. Townsend Street in Santa Ana.

He is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
