Entertainment Venue – The Warwick Valley Dispatch

This time of year, local streets fill with city dwellers looking to refresh their understanding of what fall really means in New York: apple picking, pumpkin picking, leaf peeping, visits to farmers markets and seasonal festivals, and many more types.

The Lakeside Farmers Market in Greenwood Lake presents visitors with a varying selection of fruits and vegetables, prepared foods and beverages depending on Mother Nature’s schedule. But every week there’s a different musician joining these vendors, like Will Hinck, who uses his acoustic guitar to perform acoustic versions of hits from the ’60s to today. Last week, visitors were entertained with acoustic music from guitarist Robby Gorny, who enjoys playing good country and rock music. “When we started this market a few years ago,” said market manager Karen Wintrow, “we wanted to provide our customers with a welcoming environment so they could relax and enjoy their visit with us, so the musical component has become an important ingredient become.”

In addition to vendor offerings, the market coordinates special events, entertainment, demonstrations and other activities, as well as a coordinated social media and print marketing campaign to attract customers to the market. With its unique location in Winstanley Park on Windermere Ave. (across from Chase Bank), Orange County’s newest farmers market has proven to be extremely valuable to the vendors and nonprofit organizations participating in the Lakeside Farmers Market at Greenwood Lake.
