A Phoenix police officer’s patrol car was struck by a hit-and-run and drunk driving driver, PD says

PHOENIX – A Phoenix police officer’s patrol car was struck by a driver who was eventually caught Wednesday afternoon, the department said.

The Oct. 16 crash occurred nearby 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

“The officers were able to stop the vehicle and took the driver into custody. The driver was later investigated for drunk driving. There were no serious injuries to report,” Phoenix police said.

The suspect was not identified by police.
