Bomb scare: Vistara flight Frankfurt-Mumbai makes emergency landing

A Vistara flight to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing on Wednesday due to a bomb threat. The plane with 147 people on board flew from Frankfurt, Germany.

PTI sources reported that the Boeing 787 landed safely at 7:45 am and was immediately directed to an isolation bay for security check.

The plane had 134 passengers and 13 crew members. It left Frankfurt on Tuesday at 8:20 p.m. local time.

In a statement, Vistara confirmed the incident and said: “Vistara flight UK 028, which flew from Frankfurt to Mumbai on October 16, 2024, was the subject of a security threat that was reported on social media.”

The situation is currently under investigation and no further information has been released at this time.


Vistara said in a statement that its Frankfurt-Mumbai flight received a security alert but landed here safely. “Vistara flight UK 028, which flew from Frankfurt to Mumbai on October 16, 2024, was the subject of a security threat that was reported on social media,” the airline said. As per protocol, all relevant authorities were immediately informed, it said, adding that the aircraft landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

“It was taken to the isolation bay where all customers were disembarked. We are fully cooperating with security agencies to carry out mandatory security checks,” Vistara said in the statement.
