Vance says “no” when asked if Trump lost the 2020 election

In the months since he was born Donald Trump Vice President of Ohio, Senator of Ohio. JD Vance has repeatedly dismissed questions about whether the Republican presidential candidate lost the 2020 election, saying he is focused on the future.

During a rally in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, where Vance was asked by a reporter about his lack of clear answers, he was more explicit.

“What message do you think it sends to independent voters when the question ‘Did Donald Trump lose in 2020?’ not answered directly,” the reporter asked, prompting boos from the crowd, before Vance responded and said he had answered the question “a million times.”

“NO. I think there were serious problems in 2020,” Vance said. “So did Donald Trump lose the election? Not in the words I would use, okay?”

The answer was the most specific Vance has ever given on the subject and a departure from the series of excuses he has offered about the election, which Trump continues to say, without evidence, was fraudulently in favor of Democrat Joe Biden had been decided.

During a debate with Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz this month, Vance was asked about the 2020 election but replied that he was “focused on the future.”

Vance’s refusal to say whether Trump lost was widely seen as his weakest moment in the debate with Walz, the Minnesota governor, who called the answer “a.” damn non-response.” The campaign for the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris quickly turned the exchange into a television commercial.

During an interview with The New York Times, Vance refused to acknowledge Biden’s victory five times.

Trump’s continued denial that he lost the election to Biden is a widely held opinion among the Republican’s supporters. Last week he warned an audience in Nevada: “We never want what happened in 2020 to happen.”

Trump has continued to say without evidence that he expects his opponents to “cheat” in the 2024 election and urged his supporters to turn out in large numbers so that his vote count will be “too big to manipulate.”
