Person stabbed near City Hall building: FDNY

MANHATTAN, NY (PIX11) – One person was stabbed in an unprovoked attack near City Hall on Wednesday, sources told PIX11 News.

A 19-year-old was stabbed in the neck near Chambers and Center streets just before noon, sources said. According to the FDNY, the victim was taken to a hospital.

Sources told PIX11 News that the stabbing occurred while the victim was waiting in line for court. The suspect fled and police did not catch him, according to sources.

A video from the crime scene shows police cordoning off a large area in front of the New York Criminal Court Summons building on Wednesday afternoon. The barriers that formed a line outside the building were empty shortly after the stabbing, video from the crime scene shows.
