9 students are slightly injured after a bus accident

REDWOOD COUNTY, Minn. – Nine students on board a school bus had an accident on Wednesday morning.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. near 280th Street and CSAH 7.

The bus was traveling eastbound and failed to yield as it entered an intersection, causing a Ford truck to strike the bus.

Nine of the students suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

In a statement to parents, the Wabasso Public School District said, “We are grateful that no serious injuries were sustained to our students or the driver of the other driver.”

They also said they would provide a counselor to any student who may be experiencing anxiety due to the accident.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
