Mets announce lineup for Game 3 of NLCS

Here is the Mets’ lineup for Game 3 of the NLCS:

  1. Francisco Lindor – SS
  2. Mark Vientos – 3B
  3. Brandon Nimmo – LF
  4. Pete Alonso – 1B
  5. Starling Marte – RF
  6. JD Martinez – DH
  7. Jose Iglesias – 2B
  8. Tyrone Taylor – CF
  9. Francisco Alvarez – C

Some notes: JD Martinez will see his first action in the NLCS, facing Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler against Jesse Winker. Martinez is 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his career against Buehler, with his only outing against the righty coming in a matchup during the 2018 World Series.

Both Francisco Alvarez and Jose Iglesias will be in the starting lineup, possibly with Jeff McNeil on the bench as a pinch hitter. McNeil didn’t have much success against Buehler, going 1-for-10 in his career with one walk and two strikeouts.

It also looks like the Mets will be using Tyrone Taylor instead of Harrison Bader in center field this series. Taylor has gone 4-for-28 with two walks and two doubles so far this postseason, while Bader has managed just one single in six playoff plate appearances.
