Green Bay entertainment venues are warning consumers about third-party ticket fraud

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay area venues are coming together to address consumer concerns about purchasing concert and event tickets on secondary sales sites.

Experts say this is an ongoing problem. Action 2 News’ Tammy Elliott reported on such ticket scams back in August.

Some third-party websites may have counterfeit tickets that often cost more than the venue, which can cost you hundreds of dollars, if not more.

“I was just checking a few events yesterday. I looked in November for the same seats we sell here for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and the price was $190 for two tickets with the fees. The same tickets on one of these websites out there were about $470 for the same seats,” said Terry Charles, senior manager of corporate communications at PMI Entertainment Group.

Experts recommend starting by searching online for the official venue’s website. Once you find the website, only purchase through their website.
