Wisconsin Dells resident dies in accident in Juneau County

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A Wisconsin Dells resident is dead following a crash Wednesday in Juneau County, officials reported.

According to the Juneau County Sherrif’s Office, a call came in just after 10 a.m. about a two-vehicle collision on STH 80 at 32nd Street in Clearfield Township.

When officers arrived on scene, authorities said they found a red Hyundai Sonata in a ditch.

The 44-year-old driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene of the accident. There was also serious damage to the front section, roof, driver’s side and the deployed airbags.

Authorities said officers also found a semi-truck lying on its passenger side in a ditch. According to deputies, corn was being transported.

The driver of the semi-truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mile Bluff Medical Center.

The Necedah Fire Department was among several agencies assisting the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.
