Real Housewives of New York Season 15 Episode 3 Recap

Last night’s episode Real Housewives of New York was a lesson in letting go. The women gathered at Erin’s residence in the Hamptons, exchanging gifts and mending broken friendships. Somehow. What happened on Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Episode 3?

The women arrived in the Hamptons eager to relax and enjoy a much-needed break from the city. The trip was a walk in the park compared to last year. The women did not complain about the temperature in Erin’s home, nor did they complain about the lack of food. I would call that a success! Overall, the episode was relatively quiet. Sai and Brynn cleared the air, Jenna gave Jessel some lingerie she really liked, and Erin finally made enough food. Still, Ubah was there to keep the temperature on the drama scale HOT.

Drama in the Hamptons

It wouldn’t be a RHONY Girls trip without a little drama. The first bout of tension occurred before half the cast had even arrived. Erin wasted no time in informing Sai and Ubah that Racquel felt Sai had left her out of the carpool. According to Raquel, she told Sai that she would get sick in the car and wouldn’t be able to ride with them if she couldn’t sit in the driver’s seat. She told Erin that Sai had not complied with this request and therefore she had to drive alone.

Sai quickly pulled out the screenshots that proved she wasn’t abandoning the newbie and was ready to coordinate schedules. When Racquel arrived, Sai confronted her about the carpool drama. The whole thing was a big misunderstanding. Sai interpreted Racquel’s “I have to drive” text as her saying she wanted to drive separately, but in reality Racquel was asking if she could drive Sai’s car.

I’m Team Sai here. It’s brave to ask a new friend to drive your car.

Sai and Brynn sort things out

After the girls settled in, Sai and Brynn sat down for a peace talk. Sai explained that she was hurt that Brynn told Jenna that she hated her. Brynn, desperate to put an end to the she said/she said game, called Jenna over to explain her side of the story.

Jenna said that Brynn may have been one of the people who told her about Sai’s trash talking, but there were many others. Sai continued to pester Brynn about her involvement, which didn’t go over well. Brynn started yelling at Sai for focusing on her involvement and not worrying about the other people telling Jenna the same story. Sai ended the peace talk and left the room.

Brynn decided to take the high road and surprised her former friend with a truce in the form of a hug. Sai accepted the gesture. I guess this means they’re friends again? It’s hard to say with these two.

The Real Housewives of New York gift exchange

If you watched Season 14 of RHONY, you know that Jenna loves gifts. On last night’s episode, Erin tried to put the spotlight on “the gift giver” by giving all the women customized gift baskets. Unfortunately, Jenna was ten steps ahead. She pulled out boxes full of lingerie for all the women.

She made fun of Jessel’s lingerie debacle in season 14 by giving her a Christmas tree costume instead of sexy clothes. If you know it, you know it. Luckily for Jessel, Jenna had a second gift for her. She followed up the joke gift with a gorgeous black lingerie set. Unlike last year, Jessel was (thankfully) happy with the clothing. She didn’t storm around the house talking about how ugly she looked in Jenna’s gift.

After the presents, the women headed to dinner to catch up and meet the new cast members. Racquel was the first victim. The women asked her about her cool fiancée, Mel Corpus. She told the ladies the story of their engagement and said Mel popped the question while on a motorcycle ride with friends. She also showcased her huge and unique engagement ring that stunned all the women. She’s definitely one of the coolest housewives the franchise has ever had.

Rebecca’s friend also told some wild stories. She talked about dating a man to get access to a great New York apartment and revealed how she lost her virginity as a teenager. She told the girls that her parents had allowed her to use contraception as a teenager if she promised to stay away from drugs. It seemed like a pretty fair deal to me, but the women were horrified. Really? Aren’t these the women who were talking about public sex last year?

Ubah calls Brynn a pigeon

Episode 3 ended with Ubah attacking Brynn. The conversation began with Ubah trying to explain why Sai felt isolated from the group. She said the group twisted her words and used her as a pawn. Brynn intervened and asked Ubah why she was acting as Sai’s spokesperson. The comment clearly triggered Ubah, who then told Brynn: “Shut up.” Yikes.

The comment led to Ubah ranting about everyone being “a dove” and accusing her of spreading rumors and misinformation. She directed most of her anger at Brynn, whom she considered the “biggest pigeon in the group” and described as “a snake you don’t see coming.”

The argument ended when Sai shouted “pineapple,” which made Ubah stop scolding. I’m so confused. Did they establish that beforehand as some kind of safe word? The fight ended, but something tells me the feud between Brynn and Ubah will continue… Anyway, that’s what you missed on Tuesday’s episode of Real Housewives of New York Season 15.
