Man charged in stabbing at Bolsa Chica State Beach

A Huntington Beach man was charged Wednesday with stabbing another man to death at Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Michael Alexander Ryan, 48, was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies. He also faces increased sentences for allegedly causing serious bodily harm to the victim and personal use of a deadly weapon.

Police were called to the beach around 4:45 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived, state park police had Ryan in custody and the victim was taken to an area hospital, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
