A man accused of stabbing another man on a trail near Boulder in September turned himself in to the Boulder County Jail on Wednesday.

Randy J. Wojno, 64, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and loose dogs and is being held on $10,000 bail, according to a news release.

According to a previous news release, at 7:46 a.m. Sept. 11, the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of a stabbing on Chapman Drive at Tenderfoot Trail, a Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks trail west of Boulder near the 3400 block of Flagstaff Road.

According to the press release, a man was walking when he was confronted by Wojno. The victim had previously interacted with Wojno while using the trail, as both frequently traveled in the area.

According to the press release, Wojno then stabbed the man several times with a knife. Wojno then fled up the Tenderfoot Trail to the Realization Point parking lot.

Eight Sheriff’s Office deputies responded in addition to Boulder OSMP Rangers and after an extensive search of the area, they believed the suspect was no longer there.

The man who was stabbed suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
