Doug McDermott agrees to negotiate with Kings, sources say

Free agent sharpshooter Doug McDermott has agreed to a deal with the Sacramento Kings, sources tell ESPN.

McDermott joins the Kings, a Western Conference playoff contender, in his 11th NBA season, making him an accomplished veteran scorer and respected teammate.

According to sources, the Kings had the flexibility to add McDermott to the San Antonio Spurs after trading forward Jalen McDaniels on Monday.

McDermott, 32, has shot 41% from 3-point range over his 10-year NBA career, averaging 8.9 points per game.

The 6-foot-2 McDermott split time between the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers last season and averaged 5.5 points in 64 games.
