Shots were fired at 6515 Ameriplex Drive (Camaco) – one person died

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, officers responded to 6515 Ameriplex Drive (Camaco) in reference to a report of shots fired outside the building. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 22-year-old Burns Harbor man deceased in the employee parking lot. Witnesses report that there was a verbal argument between the deceased, a company employee, and the suspect during shift change before the shooting. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators have identified a person of interest and officers are traveling to a neighboring community to locate that person.
