One person is killed in a wrong-way accident in Rancho Cucamonga

One person was killed in a wrong-way crash on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga early Wednesday morning.

Shortly after midnight, a two-car accident occurred where a Tesla sedan collided head-on with a Toyota Avalon sedan.

According to authorities, one person died at the scene and another person was taken to a hospital.

The eastbound lanes of Foothill Boulevard just before Haven Avenue were closed during the morning commute while the investigation continued.

It is unclear whether the deceased person was the driver who caused the accident or not. It is also unknown how the surviving person is doing and whether there were passengers in any of the cars.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
