BALTIMORE – A woman has been arrested and charged after her 2-year-old child was found unresponsive in a home in Glen Burnie.

Police said that on August 17, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the 8000 block of Winding Wood Road in Glen Burnie for an unresponsive 2-year-old child.

When they arrived, they found the unresponsive child lying face down in the house. The child was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives conducted an investigation and recovered evidence from the home.

The child was taken to the chief medical examiner’s office to conduct an autopsy.

Toxicology results showed that opioids were present in the child’s body.

The child’s mother, Tiffany Lynee Carr, 34, was later charged with involuntary manslaughter, child neglect, reckless endangerment and related charges.
