The woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide was set to graduate, according to Glendale police

Police have identified two people found dead in a suspected murder-suicide at a Glendale apartment complex on Tuesday.

Glendale According to police, they were 24-year-old Monet Newton and 22-year-old Chase Cooper found shot just after noon on Oct. 15 near 79th Avenue and Bell Road.

“Initial information leads investigators to believe that this was a… Murder-suicide conducted by Chase Cooper,” police said.

Investigators say Monet was scheduled to graduate from her master’s degree this week and her family was coming to town. When Monet didn’t pick up her family members from the airport, they became worried and went to her apartment.

“Eventually they entered the apartment and discovered the deceased bodies of Monet and Chase,” police said.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
