A car accident in Jones County sends two people to the hospital

JONES COUNTY, Texas – Two people were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 277 in Jones County around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday

According to Hawley police, a car was traveling east on FM 605 when the driver allegedly ignored a stop sign and crashed into the side of another car heading south on Highway 277.

According to police, the driver of the car that ignored the stop sign, an elderly woman, was taken to a hospital with multiple fractures.

The driver of the other car, a middle-aged man, was taken to the hospital in a private car. Her injuries appeared to be minor.

Police are still trying to determine whether a citation will be issued.
