NCT’s Jaehyun and Lee Chae Min’s K-Drama I Trust You Cease Production; Check the official statement

NCT’s Jaehyun and Lee Chae Min were set to star in an upcoming K-drama titled “I Trust You.” However, production on the show has been suspended indefinitely. The team’s statement reveals that the show has been postponed due to investment delays. Furthermore, this project would have been Jaehyun’s last before being drafted into the military.

On October 16, 2024, the production team of the K-drama I Trust You made a statement regarding the future of the project. YTN News reported that they are “actively seeking new investors to address the issues and will take responsibility for paying out the actors’ guarantees and staff’s outstanding salaries.”

Filming for the drama began in April 2024, but had to halt production as announced on October 16, 2024. YTN News reported that the drama is facing investment problems. Although the pre-production stages were completed, filming began before contracts with investors were finalized.

Ultimately, the investors changed their position so that the production company did not have sufficient funds to cover the filming costs, which led to the halt of production. Despite the company’s efforts to resume filming, it has been almost five months since production was halted and it is likely that the staff and actors have not yet received payment.

But even if the investment problem is solved, the team will have a difficult time with the cast as Jaehyun will soon be joining the military. He plays the main character of the series, which makes his presence crucial.

The show’s plot is based on a profound journey of awakening and personal growth in which the seemingly weak find their inner strength to challenge and triumph over the forces of adversity and dominance. Jaehyun is given the opportunity to play the role of Soo Il Nam, a victim deeply affected by the traumatic experiences of school violence. The K-pop artist is currently considering accepting the role.

Mace Entertainment, a production company that also produced the gripping Netflix series “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” starring Ju Ji Hoon and Choo Young Woo, is bringing the show to life.
