Hartford city councilor charged with church theft: reports

HARTFORD, CT – A 27-year-old man who is a member of the city’s top government organization has been charged with embezzling from his church.

According to Fox 61, Hartford police are accusing Thomas of funneling church funds to a shell company and then to his personal bank account.

Thomas was charged with money laundering and theft and his bond was set at $250,000, Fox 61 reported.
