Jury deliberations begin in the trial of a former oral surgeon accused of sexually assaulting patients

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Jury deliberations began Wednesday morning, October 16, in the trial of Michael Hasson, a former oral surgeon accused of sexually abusing dozens of patients.

Hasson is accused of sexually abusing 19 patients and allegedly committing the crimes while the victims were under sedation.

He faces 24 charges, including indecent liberties with children, sexual assault and second-degree forcible sexual offenses. The victims are between 12 and 69 years old.
