A woman is killed in a pedestrian accident in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville police are investigating a crash on Piney Forest Road that killed a 57-year-old woman on October 15.

According to DPD, officers responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. On scene, officers found 57-year-old Candace Cassidy, who had been struck by a Ford F-150.

Cassidy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford and witnesses to the accident told police that Cassidy was in the middle turning lane while the truck slowed to make the turn when she was struck.

According to Danville PD, the crash remains under investigation.
