While on the phone, a woman left Lululemon in The Village with $1,700 worth of stolen clothing at 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8th.

The suspect is described as a black woman in her 20s with red hair. She fled the scene in a black Honda Sonata.

Grosse Pointe Farms

Burglary into the house

After a home alarm was reported at 8:13 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, officers discovered that the rear glass doors of a home in the 100 block of Lothrop had been kicked in and left wide open.

Several disheveled drawers were found in the bedrooms with items thrown around on the floor, with jewelry and handbags missing.

The residents were not at home at the time of the incident.

Confiscated

After a 23-year-old Detroit man was pulled over for stopping at a green light and then abruptly turning into the oncoming lane of traffic on Moross Street at 5:04 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, he was cited for improper lane use and an unregistered motor vehicle and have no insurance.

His vehicle was impounded.

History repeats itself

A homeowner near Christ Church Grosse Pointe saw a man standing in her backyard on Sunday, October 13th at 8:38 p.m. As the man approached the house and jiggled the doorknob as if to enter, he was confronted by the woman’s husband and said he was being chased by two black men who were shooting at him.

There were no reports of shots being fired in the area, and officers arrived to discover the 59-year-old Shelby Township man, who is well known to the department and has a long history of break-ins and break-ins.

In 2011, he entered the Farms Public Safety Building through an open fire bay while the department was responding to a fire and stole two rifle stocks, replicas of the department’s honor guard, from the basement.

In 2014, he was arrested after being suspected of stealing items from 19 unlocked homes in the Farms and Woods.

He was most recently arrested in 2021 on suspicion of the theft of at least 13 vehicles and a vehicle theft from the city, farms and parks, as well as a home invasion into the garage of a carriage house in Lincoln.

On Sunday, the man was arrested for prowling. He told officers he planned to return to Pointes and slash the tires of every vehicle in the train station parking lot and break into houses.

Drunk driving

A 37-year-old Detroit woman was stopped for driving the wrong way on Lakeshore at 10:39 p.m. on Sunday, October 13th. She was found to be operating while intoxicated and was subsequently arrested.

A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent.

Disordered

Police arrested a 33-year-old Detroit man shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 7, for disturbing a restaurant in the 17000 block of Mack.

“(Officers) responded to the location on a report of two intoxicated individuals being disorderly inside,” an investigator said. “One subject was treated by doctors for severe poisoning. The other was arrested for disorderly conduct.”

A 64-year-old Park man was arrested last week when police reportedly found him passed out in a vehicle with crack cocaine.

According to police, just after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, officers responded to the area of ​​Mack Avenue and Lakepointe for a report of a stationary vehicle with the engine running and the driver slumped over the steering wheel.

“(He had) his foot on the brake,” police said.

Car stolen

Two unknown suspects with their faces covered are seen on surveillance video at 10 p.m. Monday, October 7, stealing a white 2023 Dodge Charger from a locked garage in the 1200 block of Whittier.

“(They) broke into the garage and stole the vehicle without the keys,” police said.

Steals charcoal

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 9 p.m., a bespectacled man on a bicycle stole a bag of charcoal that was stored outside a store in the 14100 block of Charlevoix, police said, citing video evidence.

Some theft victims believe their stolen property was listed for sale online.

A Green Razor scooter that was stolen from the 1000 block of Maryland overnight on Friday, September 13th is being featured on Facebook Marketplace, according to the rightful owner.

A set of golf clubs taken from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Audubon around the same time is reportedly for sale on eBay.

The police are investigating the matter.

Hit, run, caught

Two damaged cars ended up in the front yard of a home in the 800 block of Lakepointe early Sunday, Oct. 13, when a driver struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and ran away.

Officers responded to the scene at 2:17 a.m

“The driver of the occupied vehicle fled the scene but was identified as the registered owner of the vehicle,” police said.

An investigator identified the suspect as a 27-year-old woman from St. Clair Shores.

“She was reported for leaving the scene of an accident,” police said.

Stolen vehicle

A 2017 Chrysler 300 was stolen from the Ascension St. John Hospital parking lot between 3 and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10th. The owner told officers that the vehicle was locked and the alarm system was activated.
