Daily Beast reports that a VA political operative is pocketing money from the Trump campaign while fundraising is delayed

POWHATAN, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Daily Beast reports that longtime Virginia GOP politician Chris LaCivita raised “$22 million” over the past two years for his Richmond-area consulting firm as Donald Trump’s senior campaign adviser . This report comes at a time when the Trump campaign is lagging behind the Harris campaign in fundraising, even going so far as to have Trump criticize donors in a report for not giving more. The Beast quotes former campaign aides as saying that consulting money to LaCivita’s Advancing Strategies firm was “outrageous,” but a Trump campaign official said the figure was misleading because much of it was “pass-through” payments to other vendors .

An email from LaCivita to The Beast says the story is “made up” and continues: “Every member of this team, including me, has been compensated fairly and responsibly…”
LaCivita began his political career with George Allen’s congressional campaign when Allen lived in Earlysville.
