Group with close ties to Trump Transition says it was targeted by cyberattack

A conservative think tank laying the foundation for a possible second Trump administration has apparently been the target of a cyberattack.

The America First Policy Institute reached out to federal authorities for assistance after an attack on its internal network. The group said in a statement that its systems were now secured.

“It is not surprising that hostile foreign actors would attempt to penetrate our IT,” said Marc Lotter, a spokesman for AFPI. “The threat actor’s tactics, techniques and procedures are similar to those of nation-state sponsored activities we have seen, allowing us to quickly remediate and respond.”
