Mattapan man was charged in the Dorchester stabbing Tuesday afternoon

A 43-year-old man is facing criminal charges in connection with a stabbing near a Boston empanada shop on Tuesday, according to Boston police.

Pedro Sanchez, of Mattapan, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury.

At approximately 12:42 p.m., officers went to 209 Humboldt Ave. for a report of a person stabbed. Police found a man with a stab wound and took him to a hospital. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a statement.
