A man has admitted attacking a Londonderry businessman during an Apprentice Boys parade in the city.

Ian Knipe, 47, of Wentworth Green, Portadown, was due to contest a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm to the man in the Spencer Road area of ​​Derry on August 12, 2023.

At Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Knipe changed his plea to guilty.

Deputy District Judge Peter Prenter said he needed a pre-sentence report before passing sentence.

Knipe was released on bail and appeared again on December 6.
