In an accident on Highway 59, Tarkio driver is injured after hitting an embankment

On October 15, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., a single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 59, eight miles north of Tarkio, Missouri

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Daniel J. Irvine, 36, of Tarkio, Missouri, was driving a 2007 Dodge Charger northbound when the vehicle left the west side of the roadway. The Dodge Charger struck an embankment and came to rest on the embankment, still facing north.

Irvine, the driver and sole occupant, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Fairfax Community Hospital. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Double M Tow.

The crash was investigated by Trooper CR Kinman, assisted by Corporal KL Ebersold and the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office.
