Two injured in overnight stabbing attack in northwest DC

Washington, D.C — An overnight stabbing in northwest D.C. has sparked an investigation by local authorities after two people were discovered with serious injuries.

Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 3000 block of Van Ness St. Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman suffering from stab wounds.

Fortunately, police reported that both victims were conscious and breathing at the time of transport to the hospital. Her current condition is not known as of Tuesday morning.

  • Police charge 18-year-old with drunk driving after fatal crash in Arlington

    Arlington, VA – An 18-year-old man has been charged with drunken driving following a crash that left one person dead early Saturday morning in Tara-Leeway Heights.

    According to the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD), officers and firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of N. Harrison St. just before 2 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, paramedics began treating a passenger who suffered life-threatening injuries.

    The passenger, identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Rados of Arlington, was taken to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

    Preliminary investigation revealed that Brooks Bare, also 18 and of Arlington, was driving the vehicle north on N. Harrison St. when he struck several parked, unoccupied vehicles on the side of the road, causing his car to overturn.

    In addition to Bare and Rados, there were three other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. One of them was taken to hospital with minor injuries but has since been released. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
