Othello police are investigating Friday’s shooting

DIFFERENT – Officials with the Othello Police Department are asking for the public’s help as part of their investigation into an Oct. 11 shooting.

“Two gunshot victims have been identified,” Othello Police Chief Dave Rehaume said Tuesday. “We are in contact with the people involved.”

One was a juvenile and one was an adult, he said.

According to an OPD media release, the incident occurred on October 11 at approximately 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Fourth Avenue.

Rehaume said Tuesday that while there have been other shootings near South Fourth Avenue, Friday’s shooting did not appear to be related to another incident in that area. It also does not appear to be related to other shootings in the Othello area, at least based on the information available so far, he said.

The case is still under investigation and officials are still collecting evidence, he said.

“There was movement today too,” said Rehaume.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Othello police at 509-488-3314 and ask for Detective Perez or Detective Sergeant McFarlane.
