CPD Obtains Arrest Warrants for Individuals Related to Hardy Dr. Shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (NOW CVILLE) – Charlottesville Police have identified a suspect in the September 12, 2024 shooting on Hardy Avenue.

There are arrest warrants for Nayquon Laymonte Steppe.

The 25-year-old black male is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. One has to assume that he is armed.

Steppe was accused of the following crimes:

• 18.2-51.2-Attempted malicious wounding
• 18.2-56 – Reckless handling of firearms
• 18.2-137 – Destruction of property
